Bio:

Ye AN, currently studying at the Music Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory,has displayed a great passion for music since a young age. Recently awarded as one of the seven Laureates at the Fourth Grand Piano Competition, Ye was invited to perform at the award ceremony on June 18th, 2024 with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra "Evgeny Svetlanov* and conductor Ivan Nikiforchin at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. An international competition for young pianists founded by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and directed by pianist Denis Matsuev, the Grand Piano Competition has provided Ye with a great platform heard by renownedjury members.Ye has appeared as a soloist with several orchestras. In January 2025, Ye was invited to perform complete Rachmaninoff"s Second Piano Concerto with conductor Paul Bateman and the National Symphony Orchestra (Britain) at Qintai Concert Hall in Wuhan. In August 2024, he was invited to perform at the closing concert of the 2nd Chinese Young Musicians Art Festival in Shenzhen, China with the Shenzhen Bay Orchestra and conductor Ming Liu. Earlier in the same month, he was invited to perform at the closing concert ofthe 2024 Cross-Strait Youth Pianists Festival in Fuzhou, China with the Festival Orchestra and conductor Mikhail Kirchhoff. In October 2023, he collaborated with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Liang Zhang for a performance featuring the best students from the school.A frequent prizewinner at international competitions, Ye has won Young Artist A ward and First Prize at the 2023 GOCAA New York International Music Competition, First Place at the 2023 USMCE Piano Open Competition, First Prize at the 2022 Chopin International Children's Piano Competition, and Grand Prize at the 2021 St. Petersburg International Music Competition,to name a few. He has also performed publicly at the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall,Shanghai Conservatory of Music He Luting Concert Hall, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Shanghai Conservatory of Music Opera House, Fujian Grand Theater, Guangming (Shenzhen) Culture and Art Center, Bransler (Qingdao) Grand Theatre, Hefei Grand Theatre, among others. Born in 2012, Ye started piano lessons at the age of five with teacher Zhuo Li. He moved to Prof. Christopher Zhong's studio a year later, who is a Steinway Artist and serves as a piano faculty member at the Music Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Ye has been awarded the Niu Ende Scholarship and attended masterclasses with Prof. Alexander Sandler,Prof. Sergey Osipenko, and Prof. Matti Raekallio.
